Winter-Blooming Flowers Unique to Japan

Even in the cold season, we can enjoy the beauty of winter-blooming flowers. In Japan, two of the most iconic winter flowers are camellias (Tsubaki) and sasanquas (Sazanka). Did you know that both of these flowers are native to Japan? I have a sasanqua tree planted at my home, and it blooms beautifully every year. 🌸✨ Though they both bloom in shades of red and white, there’s a key difference between them: Sasanqua petals fall one by one, while camellia flowers drop as a whole. Each flower carries a unique meaning: 🌺 Camellias symbolize modest kindness and effortless beauty. 🌸 Sasanquas represent overcoming hardships and dedication. Their graceful blooms, standing strong against the winter chill, truly embody these meanings. ❄️✨
