In some countries, umbrellas are not used very often, but in Japan, umbrellas are a necessity, especially in summer when it rains frequently and it is very humid and uncomfortable to get wet. In summer, I carry a lightweight umbrella that doubles as a parasol. When it is raining when I pick up my children from kindergarten, it is very depressing, but I try to be prepared with raincoats, waterproof hats, boots, and leg warmers to protect them from the rain.

夏は涼しいイメージのある北海道ですが、実は関東の気温と変わらないくらい暑いです。ですが、湿度が低くカラッとした気候のため、関東などよりは過ごしやすいのだと思います。夜は15℃近くまで気温が下がったりと寒暖差が大きいので、北海道へ来る際は服装に工夫が必要ですね。

今年の日本は猛暑です🥵 暑いときはリネンの服やシーツが涼しくていいですね。 寒いときはウールが入った服が温かい。 でも私は、リネンもウールもほんの5％でも入っていると、肌がチクチクして着られません😭 悲しい…😭

When I think of Japan, I think of kimonos, but I rarely wear them. I have a yukata that was given to me by my mother, and I learned how to wear it, but now I can hardly wear it. I would like to wear kimonos and yukatas when my children grow up. I want my children to wear them. When I was a child, I was allowed to wear a yukata for summer festivals and a kimono for New Year's and Shichi-Go-San 😊I also wore a kimono for my son's Shichi-Go-San and took pictures with my family. My son was tired of wearing haori hakama for the first time😓.
